The MTN Ghana has taken steps to strengthen internet connectivity with new Fiber and 4G upgrades.
The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Stephen Blewett, has announced that MTN’s Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service will expand internet access to households across major communities in the country for various needs and activities.
Speaking at a media and stakeholder forum in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital, Mr. Blewett said the FTTH service was developed to meet the growing demand for reliable home internet connectivity among Ghanaians.
He explained, “We have tailored our FTTH solutions to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Our FTTH service offers high-speed internet connectivity, reliable and stable connections, low latency for seamless online experiences, and flexible plans to suit various needs and budgets.”
He further noted, “This initiative aligns with our overarching digital agenda aimed at bridging the digital divide and empowering individuals, businesses, and communities across Ghana.”
Mr. Blewett emphasized that network expansion and capital investment remain central to MTN’s business growth and customer experience. He highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding its digital infrastructure to enhance connectivity and contribute to national economic growth.

The company is upgrading infrastructure and strengthening the foundations of digital communication. In 2025, about 130 kilometers of fiber infrastructure will be relocated to improve network resilience and expand overall capacity. This, according to MTN, will create the groundwork for next-generation digital services and applications that empower both individuals and businesses nationwide.
As part of his visit to the Northern Region, Mr. Blewett engaged with several stakeholder groups. He paid a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, and met with media representatives from the Upper East, North East, Savannah, and Northern regions. The CEO also interacted with MTN staff, toured the Tamale market, and held discussions with the company’s trade partners.
